Free Twilight Movie Upload! Are you a show fan who loves to know every detail? Are you a TV aficionado who is able to name the locales of shows? Then the Spott app for Android is merely for you. Learn more about the app that could give your entertainment knowledge the path cred you may need.
I be honest. I have useless entertainment knowledge. I'm the person my friends visit when they want to know the name of a show which has a particular theme song or what the that character was who seemed like Shaggy from Scooby Doo but handled a car (the answer, FYI, is Tinker as well as the show was Speed Buggy, which has been one in the many 'mysteries inc' cartoon imitators from the 60s and 70s).
While within an everyday setting, this useless knowledge is, well...useless, guess who's having the call when someone has got the option to phone a pal from a game show set. Oh yeah. Me.
But sometimes my useless entertainment knowledge can fail me. Often, I might not know the solution to a question in regards to the location of a movie or film (gasp!). Lucky to me and you other entertainment lovers on the market, Android developers knew that one day, at some remote time with the day, we'd have to know this stuff.
So they made an app.
Spott is surely an Android app from Inochi Ventures that allows you to learn more about your preferred films and TV that's made within your own backyard. Using your phone's GPS system, Spott allows users to either browse by movie/show or their location to master interesting details of that movie, show, or actors.
For example, Stapleton International Airport (now Denver IA) was edinburgh airport in the movie "Die Hard 2" with Bruce Willis. Up until recently, I had no idea how the hotel within the movie "Dumb and Dumber" been the Stanley Hotel, which was also the inspiration and setting for Stephen King's popular book and movie, "The Shining".
Along with giving users the ability to see their town in a whole new way, to keep your movies with the app, plus you can send in your individual photo from the famous locale in your town.
The interface for Spott is simple to manuever around - it is possible to choose movies or shows by title, location, or movies which can be near you. Obviously the nearby feature is the greatest, especially if you're traveling or recently moved. As noted, movie locations near my new capital of scotland- Denver as well as the state of Colorado are pretty popular.
Another highlight is the opportunity to view stills from movies, though for many there aren't as much as you would find should you did a simple Google search, in addition to being mentioned, you can buy DVDs of movies in the app. While a fascinating concept, I'm not really positive that I want to purchase movies on the go. It would apt to be better if you could watch said movie instead.
One disadvantage to this app may be the fact that there are no longer a lot of Spotts yet. For instance, as a former Tucson High Badger, my state they fame is the movie "Can't Buy Me Love" with pre-McDreamy Patrick Dempsey was filmed at our school, but I couldn't find a listing when putting in my former zipcode. High point though is the fact that I learned areas of Casablanca were filmed in the nearby town of Flagstaff, it's nice to see that a classic monochrome film is listed.
There are also downsides, like actor listings, which can be meh at best, however, that's where the Spotters thing will come in. Too bad this app didn't emerge before I moved.
As a motion picture and TV fan who transpires with love trivia, this is actually a pretty good app to have if you've got an Android phone. Definitely the highlight of the app is to view a wide variety of locations of numerous film scenes, though I think many people will be thinking about where their hometown or current town factors in various movies and shows.
A disappointment offers some areas are lacking, that may be annoying for users who know some movie or show was filmed of their neck from the woods. But to counter this, users can supply images and upload these phones Spott. This is actually an incredible social interaction that gets fans involved because they proudly showcase their cities and states.
I think a big let down could be the fact that this app isn't free; with only a small amount of information, this really should be a free app that gets upgraded to purchase more expenses (like the opportunity to buy and download movies). Luckily, the retail price isn't too hefty -- simply a dollar and a few change, therefore it might actually be well worth the purchase only if to hope Inochi builds the app with fan interaction and loyalty.
You will find the app here from the Android Market.
